The Mill Street Library renovation is a really important project to the Town of Orangeville, but the temporary closure of the library would be upsetting the the community. We strategized with the library staff on how to create video content to span the duration of the project and tell the story of progress over time. In the first video we spoke to the CEO of the library to explain the reason why the library needed major renovations and to inform the public on other ways they could access library services.

Midway through the renovation project we spoke to the project manager on the works done to date, what was discovered as they uncovered parts of an historical building, and what was still left to do. We took the viewers through the building so they could see the construction works underway.

The last video in this series is a wrap up video to be launched as the library is ready to re-open. This will show different stages of the works, the reason for the renovation, what challenges they faced, and how the improved facility will be more accessible. This will encourage residents to visit the library when it is open.

We visited the Mill Street Library multiple times throughout this recent renovation to keep public stakeholders updated. We interviewed various members of the team and paired those interviews with closeup footage of construction in progress and wide angle shots of the finished facility.
