At BP CSR is anchored in community, sustainability and stakeholder relations. We have had the opportunity to see how their corporate responsibility has impacted the community. Enterprise development, capacity bundling, and arts and culture are some areas they support. They also support rural education from primary level right upper to tertiary level. Their Brighter Prospects scholarship program has been running since 2013 and benefitted many students who would not be able to access higher education.
Skills training in communities where they operate has always been a priority. They also develop local entrepreneurs through micro-loans. They ensure that development is community driven by focusing CSR initiatives where their on-shore facilities are located. The community owns and manages their development initiatives and BP provides funding for these activities. We are happy to be part of sharing their success.
