We drove through Grand Valley, noticed this beautiful little river, and realised; Oh look, this town is so cute. He was like; Daphinee, it’s Grand Valley. We ended up finding our home. I really enjoy the idea of being able to see the day to day here in Grand Valley. It really inspired me to leave my business in Georgetown and come and open up here. Our community actually has been amazing. They’ve come out, they’ve purchased products, they’ve purchased gift certificates. It’s important to support local because you have all of these tiny little businesses who need to survive. By that little purchase, or that big purchase, we’re able to put our children into camp and programs within the community. In Grand Valley we are all trying to work together and it really shows how we love this community. We usually have a good clientele that comes about an hour out from all around the community coming to the salon. So at that point we’re saying “Hey, you should go and have lunch over here, go have ice cream over there.” It’s really helpful to support local.
