We had the privilege of collaborating with the Niagara Hospital Foundation on a monthly donor video project. We interviewed an accountant who highlighted the importance of regular giving, especially for cash flow planning purposes, and knowing that one day he may rely on the healthcare system himself.

We also featured a passionate senior citizen who has worked in health and social services and is now an advocate for senior care. Their personal perspectives created engaging testimonials that connect with and inspire viewers to become monthly donors. By showcasing their personal reasons for being donors, we aimed to emphasize the ease and reliability of making regular contributions, enabling the foundation to secure vital funding for essential equipment that the government does not cover.

Full video transcript:

Jeff – Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
I’ve been a monthly donor to the Niagara Health Foundation for about 15 years. I prefer to give monthly because it just happens automatically without having to think about it. My donation makes an impact on health care. It isn’t a big amount of money on a monthly basis, but over the course of my life it’ll add up, and if everybody did the same, even in the smallest amounts, then it would make a huge impact.

Dominic – Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
I’ve been a donor to the Niagara Health Foundation for many years. I’m committed to supporting Niagara Health and I think the best way to do it is through a monthly donation. I think that monthly donations are customized to what anyone can contribute. So one doesn’t have to be a terribly wealthy person to commit to a monthly donation.

Cheenee – Communications Coordinator, Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
The monthly donations that the Foundation receives go towards the most urgent needed equipment for Niagara Health, as well as for research and education. Not a lot of people know that the government doesn’t fund equipment for hospitals.

Dominic – Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
The level of funding is never enough to provide the quality of care that a community would expect. I’m passionate about health care for older people, not just because I’ve become an older person. Older people make up a significant portion of the population in Niagara and a population or a demographic that we’re all going to be in if we are healthy enough to make it that many years. I give monthly because it’s convenient and it’s stable.

Cheenee – Communications Coordinator, Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
The monthly donations allow the Niagara Health Foundation to be able to plan ahead and budget and forecast. Hospitals always need new equipment to provide the best possible care for their patients.

Jeff – Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
I was the auditor of the Welland Hospital Foundation at the time, which turned into the Niagara Health System Foundation and having worked directly with the people there and seeing the work they did and learning that the equipment in the hospital was unfunded by the government and only by donors. That was the original inspiration for me to give to them. I would say donate to the Niagara Health Foundation because it has an immediate impact on the community, allowing them to buy the equipment that we need to get the services that we want.

Cheenee – Communications Coordinator, Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
The Niagara Health Foundation has made some exciting purchases recently such as new transport ventilators, new beds, new ultrasound equipment, as well as the third MRI machine for Niagara Health.

Jeff – Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
With the construction of new hospital, monthly donations will be extremely important. The more people that can donate monthly, the better the equipment we’ll get, and the better the service we’ll get.

Dominic – Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
Making a contribution to the Hospital Foundation is making a contribution to the quality of our community. If you have a lot of people donating small amounts, it adds up.

Jeff – Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
Health care is the starting point of how to build a community. I think everybody should consider being a monthly donor.

Cheenee – Communications Coordinator, Niagara Health Foundation Donor:
Your monthly donations help Niagara Health deliver extraordinary care to every person every time.
